This is the features page from the contents section in Classic Rock magazine. This particular magazine has opted to spread its contents section over two different pages, with the other page including the 'Regulars' of this magazine. I believe that by spreading the contents out in this way, it has allowed the section to maintain a simple, and un-cluttered design which gives the magazine a slightly classier look. The actual content in which the features page includes has clearly been thought out and meets its target audience well. All the bands mentioned on this page fall under the musical banner of 'classic rock. The content on the regulars page (not seen) has also clearly been thought out. Things like interviews with musicians, a review section, and letters are all likely to appeal to their target audience. The fact that they have included a competition to win numerous prizes also will grab the readers attention. The actual prizes link well with this genre of music and are likely to increase the interest in the competition.

The use of just one large image is very effective. It allows the reader to instantly see what the main article is about and it also links with the front covers image (analysed also). The fact that it is an old picture that is in black and white links perfectly with 'Classic' theme of this magazine, and allso implies further that this magazine is aimed at an older audience. The use of colour also helps to establish its target audience. Red, white, and black are used exclusively on this page which adds to the simple design and overall classieness of the page. this implies that this magazine is aimed at people who fall more into the BC1 social status.
