The first thing i noticed about this front cover was how the pose and clothing of the person in the main image was used to create connotations of rebellion . The leather jacket, sunglasses and bandanna also relate to the style back in the 80's when this style of music was popular, meaning it is instantly relatable to the magazine itself.
The use of a black background is also very effective. Firstly, it allows the title of the magazine, which is in white, to stand out clearly to the reader. It also links well to the genre of music where black clothing is very common with people who enjoy this music e.g. black jeans and leather jackets.
This magazine also includes a 'freebie' as stated in the top left corner of the front cover, in this case it is a free CD. This freebie will appeal to the readers of the magazine, as most would enjoy listening to a CD full of music in the genre of 'classic rock'. The graphic behind allows the text to stand out on the page as it is yellow, therefore contrasting with the colour theme of the magazine.
All over the front cover, the main features of this particullar issue of the magazine are revealed, once again in white text to match the title, and to stand out on the black background. The particular bands in which the features are about are also in a much larger font size. This is beacause they will be instantly recognisable to the average reader of this magazine.
The fact that the title of this magazine involves the word 'Classic' indicates that the magazine is aimed at an older audience, between 35-50 years of age. The fact that the main image is of a singer from the 1980's also backs this up.
